Swimming pools must be surrounded by a 1200mm (120cm) high fence. If the pool is an above-ground pool and is 1200mm in height and has no bracing around the outside of the pool, only the ladder and maybe the filter will need to be fenced.
Development approval must be issued prior to the commencement of installation of a swimming pool. A pool must not be filled with water to a depth of 300mm prior to Council inspecting the requirements for a child resistant fence.
