Dalby Saleyards is the largest
one day selling centre for cattle in Queensland,
with 150,000 head of cattle marketed annually. In addition,
the saleyards also auction 125,000 sheep and lambs each
year and is one of the selected saleyards involved in the
livestock marketing reporting service.
The Dalby Saleyards has
seven agents operating, selling cattle every Wednesday and
Sheep every Monday, with intermittent special store sales
during the month, which will ensure the yards reputation
as a high profile facility is maintained in the years.
Advantages of selling in Dalby
include scales (95% of cattle are weighed prior to sale),
excellent facilities, low selling costs and proximity to
meatworks, feedlots and feed-on properties. Dalby is in
a "tick free" area so cattle can be transported
virtually anywhere in Australia.
Expanding piggeries and the intensive feedlot
industry take advantage of close proximity to grain
supplies and major abattoirs
